“These are destined to become the top awards in travel photography,” said Greg Sullivan, CEO and Cofounder of AFAR.  “AFAR has an award-winning reputation for the quality of our photography, and LensCulture is the leader in competitions and resources for contemporary photography around the globe.”

The awards will be determined by a premier panel of judges, including photo editors from the New York Times, GEO France, the Guardian, and AFAR, as well as award winning photographers.

LensCulture hosts highly respected photo awards competitions in street, portraiture, and multi-categories every year. “We think there is a huge need for a high-quality contemporary photo recognition in travel photography,” said Kamran Mohsenin, CEO of LensCulture. “We have been hearing it from many of our top photographers.  And AFAR was the natural partner for us.”

Entry is free for one single image per participant anywhere in the world. Entries of five images cost $50 and will receive a professional written review of the submission.  The competition is open through September 16th and is easy to enter at Afar.com/travelphotoawards.  Winners will be announced November 1, 2018.
