Google Maps Street View: VERY bizarre sighting leaves viewers baffled – what is it?
Google Maps Street View has photographed a very sinister-looking image snapped in a remote countryside location.
The unusual scene is made even more chilling by the fact no explanation for it is visible in the photo.
It shows a wintry landscape with clouds looming ominously. But in one corner of the shot, two mysterious shapes can be spied.
It is almost as though there are two figures looking down from the sky at those below.
One is long and thin while the other is wider and pink in colour, which contrasts with the white of the clouds.
Some viewers have speculated whether the figure on the left could be a man in a cloak and on the left is a woman is a big pink dress or cloak.
They have wondered whether the sight is, in fact, an apparition of religious figures.
The rest of the shot seems entirely normal. There is a wintry forest on the left and mountains in the distance.
The remote setting and the strange sight of the ‘figures’ in the sky lends an unearthly tinge to the scene.
However, there is more than likely a rational explanation for the mysterious photo.
Probably the weird sight is the result of a technological glitch caused by the Google camera.
The photography splicing has caused the problem due to the way the images for.
When taking the photo, the 360-degree cameras shoot multiple pictures to create the seamless image.
This is done by knitting the images together to make it seem realistic.
However, moving objects often ruin the scene as they shift when the photos are taken.
For instance, something inside the car or just outside which was caught in the shot by accident.
This is far from the first time a camera glitch has resulted in a strange apparition.
Google Maps Street View also photographed an alarming spectacle taking place in San Francisco, USA.
The disturbing shot makes it looks as though an enormous object is about to crash down on top of the city.
The huge block is so big it could crush the buildings and cars below – and the shot suggests this is imminently going to occur.
However, the likelihood of an object like this plummeting out of the sky is incredibly unlikely and it is most likely the result of a Google glitch.
Such tech errors don’t just happen to Google Maps. A Paris tourist once took a photo of the Eiffel Tower looking ‘drunk.’
