In a matter of weeks, the eyes of the world will be transfixed on Franscesca Hung and her 92 competitors as they battle to take out the Miss Universe title.

And while the pressure is surely mounting for the 24-year-old from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Ms Hung is using the time to up the ante on her preparation.

While she remains a self-described ‘simple girl’ Ms Hung told PopSugar looking her best remains paramount given her high profile, year-long role.

Here, FEMAIL takes a look at her beauty routine – and how she stays healthy while travelling full time.

When it comes to looking after her hair, the 24-year-old has a couple of tips and tricks up her sleeve to ensure it always looks its glossy best:

‘I always coat my hair in a heat protect spray before drying and styling as well as taking collagen supplements with my smoothie in the morning to help boost my hair’s growth,’ she told the publication.

The model-turned-beauty queen also revealed her penchant for highlighter, a trend Ms Hung said she hopes stays in fashion.

‘I don’t have an incredibly sharp face, it’s quite round and soft, so highlighting my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow and underneath my eyebrows gives my face more definition, angles and depth,’ she said.

Earlier this year, Francesca also revealed to PopSugar how it can be a ‘little daunting’ being on stage in a bikini.

‘I’ve been trying to work on my abs for the big show, as walking on stage in a bikini can be a little daunting sometimes!’ she explained.

While other beauty pageants like Miss America and Miss Teen USA have scrapped their swimwear sections, Miss Universe still includes it.

Ms Hung explained that while the pressure is on to look her best for the upcoming competition, she hasn’t strayed too much from her day-to-day routine.

Her mornings start with a short burst of HIIT training (high-intensity interval training) followed by a green smoothie and a black coffee.

While she keeps lunch light and simple, the young model, who is also currently studying for a masters degree in publishing, revealed she will ‘try to fill up on protein’.

This is usually chicken or tuna alongside a healthy serving of vegetables.

She will try to keep snacking to a minimum.
